Wheelchair bird watching

Parakeets can survive in the UK because the originate from the Himalayas
As soon as I am in the living room in the mornings the curtains go back and I study the garden for birds. This time of the year the birds are on the move what you think are your birds are invariably relocating to slightly warmer climes for the winter and are replaced by migrants from the Scandinavian countries and Russia. So the Robin that has lived in the hedge at the rear of our garden all summer is most probably now eating breakfast in Paris for the winter.  Some birds have migrated back to their winter sites in Africa or around the Mediterranean and wont be seen again until next spring. Read more about how and why birds migrate on the RSPB Website. And dont forget to feed our feathered friends during the cold winter months
