Yep the summer is setting up for another heatwave and Thanets sandy beaches are the destination of choice for many this weekend. I spoke to Ross Andrews from Botany Bay Beach kiosk yesterday as he waited for extra deliveries of ice lollies and ice creams. I was in the sun garden at the Botany Bay Hotel enjoying a glass of Shepherd and Neames finest and Ross joined us before rushing back to ensure sun worshipers were well catered for as the weekend temperatures are set to hit record highs. It was a similar scene in Margate as Shaun at the Two Halves Micro Pub he has ordered extra real ale in for the weekend so those craft ale lovers should be able to visit his popular establishment on Margates Marine Drive. The Two Halves overlooks the beautiful Margate Harbour with its many cafes and eateries and is close to the ever popular Turner Contemporary. Margate Broadstairs and Ramsgate businesses are all geared up for visitors I know that the Hotels in Thanet are already saying make sure you have booked. With ever more people deciding to staycation because of the troubles in Europe destinations like Thanet are benefiting from people taking weekends by the seaside or mid week breaks. So Thanet is set fair this weekend, I am heading to the beach tonight for a family get together at our summer residence our beach hut at Westbrook sands, we are so lucky living just five minutes from the beach. Don't forget to pack your suncream according to the weather forecast you will need it this weekend.
