Sunshines so is it Margate Ramsgate or Broadstairs ?

I have just seen the weather forecast for Thanet for the week and it is all set for a hot one. I live in Margate and have done for over thirty years so anytime I feel like it I can go to the seaside I live within walking distance of Margates main sands. As a family we have had a beach hut at  Westbrook Sands for over twenty five years and have been beach bums every summer. I love Thanet all year round but a seaside resort comes alive during the summer. Visitors and holiday makers are  the life blood of the area but in the time I have lived here things have changed and now we see visitors all year round visiting Thanets many attractions and coming to the area for its vibrant art and retro scene. Thanet has always been a must visit destination for Antique lovers and now the Retro shops both furniture and clothing are the new antique for the new era of collector.
Shops such as Ron Scott's RG Scott Furniture Mart is described as An Emporium of everything Antique, Old Fashioned and Unusual. A Restorers Heaven. Stocking furniture, architectural salvage ...
And is also home to  Junk Deluxe which specialises in British mid 20th century furniture, but also carries a good stock of Danish, Belgian, German and Dutch design.I pinched that description from the website.
Artist have moved into the area with the opening of the Turner Contemporary and local artist Ann Carrington currently has an exhibition at the Royal College of Art
The area has many sandy beaches and coves you dont have to settle for just getting off the train and heading for nearest stretch of sand which in Margates case is just about 100 meters from the train station. There are many secret beaches along the Thanet coastline here is a map of the area. We have the most Blue Flag Beaches anywhere in the country.
Where ever you end up enjoy your visit I know I have enjoyed living here all these years and Thanet always welcomes visitors or new people moving to the area, I know because I was once new to the area. I married a local lass and stayed and have enjoyed life in Thanet.
