It is as if the covers have been removed from the furniture in some National Trust treasure after the winter, Margate is coming back from it's winter break and has been revitalized for the summer season. Shops and cafe's bars and restaurant's are all bracing themselves for the thousands of visitors some have been on shorter winter opening hours others are training New staff all in preparation for the busiest time of a seaside year. And this year more people are expected to be staying in the UK for their holidays or as it has been renamed The Staycation. With all of the world in some sort of discord it is the staycation that is what people are regarding as the safe option. Bookings are reported to be at the highest for several years and weekend's at seaside resorts like Margate Ramsgate and Broadstairs have become so popular booking has become almost essential. I know we have some fantastic hotels so anyone wanting a week or a weekend away best book early to ensure they are not disappointed.
Margate's Dreamland is expecting high visitor numbers as people come to experience the restored park and its many attractions. People are travelling from far and wide to ride the vintage rides such as the historic Scenic Railway or skate in the fantastic Roller disco. The Turner Contemporary is always busy as Art lovers from around the country and from around the world are drawn to view works on display not only at the Turner but at the numerous other galleries that have been draw to Thanet. All the local area has become a haven for artists and a Mecca for art lovers seeking works in the numerous display areas all over the Island.
