Be Our Guest: local charity invites you to end of year event:
Members of learning disability charity- East Kent Mencap are inviting local residents to be ‘part of the magic’ this year as they perform their adaptation of Beauty & the Beast in Birchington on Thursday 11th December from 1.00pm at The Centre, on Alpha Road [CT7 9EG].
‘It’s a classic tale of love overcoming prejudice – with enchanted crockery, eccentric inventors and a few surprise twists!’ – laughs support worker Ronnie Duval,
‘The group have worked all year long towards this performance and we’re excited to share what will be their 6th and biggest panto with the local community - we can’t wait!’
Drama Member Lucy Rutland, said: ‘This is my first panto and I play one of the villager girls in the show. I am not nervous though, I’m looking forward to showing my family what I can do.’
Last year the group, who are all adults with learning disabilities, performed Snow White in Ramsgate to over 120 supporters and have sold over 90 tickets so far to this year’s production in Birchington.
‘Thank you to Hornby, Tesco Margate, Co-op Birchington, The Village Florist, Bottle Shop and ‘Best One’, Birchington, Silver Blades Ice Rinks & The KM Treasure Chest for donating some fabulous prizes towards our annual raffle, which will be drawn at the Show!’
