Margate's Christmas lights switch on

Just got this from Turner Contemporary :-
Join us for Margate's magical Christmas lights switch on
Margate starts the Christmas season with a festive event including carol-singing, music, and late night shopping, culminating in our lights switch on at 6pm.

Starting at 5pm at the bottom of the High Street at the Piazza, join the festive parade of singing and music, moving through the Old Town and arriving at Turner Contemporary. See magical Margate sparkle with glittering lights as our town's Christmas tree lights go on.

At the gallery, watch Stagecoach shooting stars perform a festive dance 5.30 - 5.45pm, Theatre Royal Margate's Beauty & the Beast panto cast countdown to the lights switch on at 6pm with a sing-song, there's a special visit from Father Christmas, and our cafe will be providing hot drinks, mince pies and turkey and cranberry sandwiches.

You'll be welcomed back into the gallery by our resident Big Sing choir performing Christmassy pop songs, then make festive folk decorations together with artist Zoe Murphy.

Left shopping till the last minute? Don't worry, artist Bob and Roberta Smith has picked a range of Interesting Things to help find something for all your gift recipients.
