Beautiful day in Margate

The sun is shining the wind has dropped. Time to be on the beach. Grab your bucket and spade Sun cream and a towel and head to Thanet, with its miles of sandy beaches Thanet has it all. Safe bathing all the main bay's have life guards and blue flags. From Margate's main sands to Botany Bay you have the full spectrum. Quiet safe beach at Botany to bright brash kiss me quick Margate. This week Broadstairs folk week is in full swing with hundreds of acts performing and morris men dancing. Ramsgate genteel harbour is a delight to visit. It is known as the Royal harbour because of its Royal connections but boat trips and fishing candy floss are easier to find than a future King so no think you are going to rub shoulders with Royalty. All said and done Thanet has some wonderful beaches bays and piers. The Turner Contemporary has drawn all maner of artists to the area JMW Turner loved Thanet and set up home close to where the new gallery is located Dante Gabriel Rossetti holidayed in Birchington Soloman J Soloman another distinguished artist set up home in Birchington so the area has a rich history in art.
Scratch beneath  the surface of the area and you will be surprised by the depth of history of the area but the surface you scratch at is delightful, history tells us where we have come from but the future of this rich and varied area is bright and exciting. I love living in Thanet, like anywhere it has its problems but there is so much to offer I urge people to visit us soon.
