Thanet has Best beaches in the UK

I was not surprised when I heard on the BBC lunchtime news that Thanet has the best beaches in the country. Those of us who live in Thanet already know hat the miles and miles of sandy beaches and bays are fantastic but it is always to have your own knowledge confirmed by experts. The globally recognised Blue Flags have been awarded to a total of nine Thanet beaches this year, which includes Minnis Bay, Margate Main Sands, Ramsgate Main Sands, St Mildred’s Bay, Stone Bay, West Bay, Joss Bay, Botany Bay and Westbrook Bay. My family have had a beach hut at Westbrook for over 25 years and found all the beaches safe and clean.
Ross who has the beach kiosk at Botany bay is delighted. Botany bay is a fantastic sandy bay that has life guards on patrol during the high season and is safe and sandy surrounded by chalk cliffs and some chalk stacks. Ross also makes great bacon sarnies which is always a good reason for a visit, he is open weather permiting  allowing all summer. CT10 3LG is the Postcode for the Fayreness Hotel which is located just above the bay. There are steps down to the beach and Kiosk and there is a slope at the bottom of Botany road   about 100 yards away heading North.
