Skywatch and the Wind Farm

Skywatch time again and I though I would combine the wind farm coming online as well. Today saw the 100 wind turbines officially turned on and produce enough electricity to power 200,000 homes. Billed as the largest in Europe I wish them well. Here are the Turbines and the clouds at the other end of the cliff tops.  Have a good week. See skies from around the world at Skywatch.

  1. I like the long view in your last photo today. About the wind turbines, I've managed to get confused... are they a good alternative source of energy or are they bird killers?

  2. I hope the dont kill birds . They go round so slow I think birds would get out of the way. XXX Don

  6. Cool shots. I've never seen an offshore windfarm, but I've seen a couple of large ones in Wyoming.

  8. I love the look at those wind turbines. We have been fighting the development of a nuclear power plant in our area. Not sure how succesful we will be, but I see that there are now plans afoot to build wind turbines in our area. We have no shortage of wind in the Eastern Cape.
